About Corey Woodruff Photography
My name is Corey and I make photos of musicians (and other people.)
Why musicians?
Because I understand and appreciate them. In fact, I'm one of them.
I've been a professional musician for over twenty years, and I think that makes me a better music photographer. I've played empty clubs, huge festivals and more than my share of corporate gigs and weddings. I've been in tons of bands. Which means I've been in tons of band photos, and most of them really sucked.
Live Music Photography
When I started working as a professional photographer in 2008 I knew that I wanted to stay close to the music business, so shooting concerts was a logical choice. My experience lets me anticipate, react and capture live performances in a unique way and it's led to me regularly working for a number of publications. I know where to be and when, how to conduct myself professionally, and above all--how to "get the shot".
Band Promos
I also work with artists, record labels and various editorial clients to create eye-catching band portraits and promotional photos. Nothing is more satisfying to me than collaborating with a client on a concept, applying my technical abilities and creative lighting skills to the project, and then seeing the concept come to life in a beautiful photograph.
Portrait Work
My promo work with bands has also led to more traditional forms of portraiture including corporate and environmental portraits, formal portraiture and several personal projects. I am always seeking all types of portrait clients, including:
* Corporate portraits / headshots
* Corporate reportage / annual reports
* "Unusual" personal / family portraits
